This 2/6 Robert Morton was built at the Van Nuys plant in California. On the small side the organ had a Vox, String, Flute, and Harp in the main chamber, and a Trumpet, Diapason, Tibia, Xylophone, Orchestra Bells, Chimes, and Toy counter in the Solo chamber. The Flute and the Diapason were the only ranks that went to 16 Ft. The chest were installed on tall legs where you could walk under them but not high enough leaving the toe boards about three feet below the shutters. The shutters were placed right at the top of the chamber and there were heavy drapes that hung directly in front of the shutters. The sound failed so bad that the theatre had to place microphones in front of the shutters.
The console was typical for a small Robert Morton with no keying relay. All the contacts were located under the keys. The switch stack was located in the back of the console with the combination action located in the two drawers. The orchestra pit was just two steps down from the main floor without a lift. The console was hard winded for the air and directly wired to spreaders in the chambers, and from there to the actions. The solo, the smaller of the two chambers, sits on a raised floor about 3 feet inside the chamber door. A tunnel beneath this floor leads to other alcoves on the side of the building. The main chamber is much the same except this time the raised floor come right to the chamber fire door. The blower and access to the other alcoves is below the chamber floor. Here there is only about a 2 foot access hole into the main chamber.
